Emily Abendroth

Emily Abendroth is a writer and visual artist residing, until recently, in Oakland, California. Her work as a community activist has focused on prison justice/anti-police brutality issues and solidarity organizing with autonomous Zapatista communities in Chiapas, Mexico. She works in multiple mediums (cloth, embroidery, linocuts, scratchboard) and is currently co-editing a book-art style literary journal called "30 Foot Honey Slick." Her poetry and short fiction has appeared in various obscure literary journals and zines. She will be in Chiapas, Mexico for the better part of this year. She is excited to be a part of this inspiring show and is always looking to collaborate or network with other artists engaged in the struggle for social justice.
